iFacePad: How To Easily Enable Facetime On iPad

A week ago it was noted that facetime could be enabled on the ipad but required too many steps and it was complicated. An application was recently released to make the whole process a lot easier so the less geeky could enable facetime on their ipad’s. Unfortunately the program is mac only, tutorial below:

  1. Download iFacePad
  2. Download iOS 4.2.1 for iPod Touch 4
  3. Download PhoneDisk
  4. Jailbreak your iPad ( in case you didn’t already )
  5. Load Cydia and install OpenSSH and AFC2 ( greenpois0n adds AFC2 by default – greenpois0n tutorial )
  6. Run PhoneDisk make sure to enable root and connect to root
  7. Run iFacePad.app
  8. Reboot iPad
  9. Enjoy

NOTE: If FaceTime doesn’t work after reboot, make sure permissions are set correct on mobilePhone.app and in /System/Library/PrivateFrameworks/IMcore.framework/IMAgent.app is set 755
